Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced that Zalakerámia plans to implement the more than HUF 22 billion investment to expand its capacity between 2021 and 2025; its goal is to become the leading manufacturer of cladding materials in the region.
As part of the expansion, a new factory will be built, the site’s technology will be modernized, and a logistics base will also be established in Romhány.
The minister emphasized that the investment will create 210 new jobs, triple Zalakerámia’s local production capacity, and significantly increase the company’s foreign market share. As part of the project, the company will also set up an education center to ensure a supply of labor for the sector, the minister added.
Hungary would have been destroyed by a similar epidemic more than a decade ago, but today the economy has become vigorous, Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade stressed at the event.
