Briefing notes

Vaccination can be done without registration this week

Following the success of the vaccination weeks and the emergence of the omicron virus in Hungary, there will be another vaccination campaign this week.

According to the information of the National Directorate General of Hospitals on its Facebook page, it will be possible to get vaccinated at hospital vaccination points without registration between December 16 and December 18.

Those interested can get the first, second or third vaccination without prior reservation. The third booster vaccination is recommended for anyone who had their second dose more than four months ago.

From December 16 to 18, 101 vaccination points are available at the following times without booking an appointment:

  • Thursday, December 16 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Friday, December 17 between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.
  • Saturday, December 18 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

During the campaign, only children aged 12 years and over will be vaccinated at the hospital vaccination points. Children aged 5 to 11 can still be vaccinated by appointment only or at their family pediatrician.

Five vaccines will continue to be available at vaccination points including Pfizer, Moderna, Janssen, Sinopharm and AstraZeneca.

Additional vaccination days will be available in January, in the district headquarters and at GPs, as well as the hospital vaccination points.
