Up to HUF 20 million available under the HFDA Startup Program

The program hopes to create a value-creating fashion and design ecosystem in Hungary to boost the sector.

The HFDA Startup Program is being organized by the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA), the Startup Campus innovation agency, and the MFB Group’s Hiventures venture capital fund.

The application period for the HFDA Startup Program, which helps the most promising young fashion and design startups to enter the market, closed on November 1, 2021, with nearly 50 applicants.

Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency, said they hope to create a value-creating fashion and design ecosystem in Hungary to boost the sector. One element of this is the HFDA Startup Program, which equips university students and startups with an entrepreneurial mindset and startup knowledge so that their thinking is driven more by innovative and digital solutions.

Among the fashion and design developments and solutions submitted, sustainability and leisure products proved to be particularly popular, but technological innovation was also an important aspect of the program’s call.

Teams selected will receive five weeks of online business training, including mentoring on key startup methodologies, team and time management skills, product development, business plans, and strategy and marketing.

After the training, the best teams will be invited to present their ideas to a panel to possibly win a HUF 20 million offer, jointly provided by MFB Group’s Hiventures and the Startup Campus Incubator.
