Tokaj Wine Region Visitor Center coming in 2024

The government will provide HUF 150 billion in support for the development of the Tokaj-Zemplén Region by 2024.

Minister of Finance Mihály Varga discussed the development of the region with György Wáberer, the government commissioner responsible for the development of the Tokaj-Zemplén Region.

After Budapest and Lake Balaton, the Tokaj-Zemplén Region may become the third most important tourist region of the country, the minister emphasized.

He said that the Tokaj Wine Region Visitor Center will be built in the first round, followed by tourist attractions on Kopasz Hill in Tokaj; the development of bicycle paths will also take place.

In the next phase, further investments will be made in Sárospatak, Sátoraljaújhely, Pálháza and Abaújszántó.

The developments will increase local opportunities and the population-retention power of towns in the area. The government is working on supporting investments to help restart the economy throughout the country, Mihály Varga underlined.
