For the sixth season of Zenélő Budapest (“Musical Budapest”), performances will take place at venues such as the Margaret Island Fountain, Museum of Fine Arts, Várkert Bazár, National Gallery, and Millenáris Park from July 2 to August 27.
The program series will feature jazz classics, a saxophone quartet, Swing music, a hussar brass band, an all-female string quartet, Transylvanian folk music and woodwinds accompanied by opera singers. Chamber music shows will feature works by composers such as Vivaldi, Mozart, Liszt, Erkel, Tchaikovsky and Bizet.
Unique ensembles have been prepared for each venue, specially composed for this occasion and perfectly adapted to the past and history of the given building/structure.
The performing artists will include members and soloists of Hungary’s most prestigious orchestras and ensembles, but young talent will also have the opportunity to introduce themselves.
The artistic director has also designed special community instruments that will be on display and used as part of an interactive exhibition for those interested.
The concert series is organized by the Budapest Philharmonic Society with the support of the Ministry of Human Resources. More information can be found at zenelobudapest.hu.
