The Jewish National Fund opens an office in Budapest

The green organization aims to advance Israeli-Hungarian relations in technological innovation, sustainability, diplomatic relations, and heritage preservation.

The Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael – Jewish National Fund (KKL-JNF) is Israel’s largest and one of the world’s oldest green organizations. It was founded in 1901 by activists with Hungarian and Central European roots.

The Jewish National Fund in Hungary aims to promote cooperation between Israel and Hungarian organizations in the fields of heritage conservation, environmental protection, water management, forestry, and technological innovation.

They announced that they want to reach not only those who are connected to the Jewish religion and Israel, but also anyone interested in strengthening the relationship between Israel and Hungary, which is at the forefront of the world in high-tech industry and innovation. They also want to reach those who want to work with the organization to protect the environment and are interested in Jewish culture and the Jewish aspects of Hungary’s past.

In the near future, the organization will initiate projects with Hungarian governmental actors, companies, startups and individuals on the topics of environmental protection, sustainability and Jewish aspects of the Hungarian past. It will also work with diplomatic missions to strengthen diplomatic relations between Israel and Hungary.
