Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó spoke after meeting with Slovenian Minister of Economic Development and Technology Zdravko Počivaląek.
Szijjártó said that the largest Hungarian companies are constantly increasing their presence and share in the Slovenian market.
The minister explained that the Hungarian and Slovenian economies are becoming more and more interconnected, and this close cooperation contributes to the rapid recovery of the Hungarian economy.
He mentioned that OTP has become a market leader in the Slovenian banking sector by acquiring another Slovenian bank, while MOL, with 173 petrol stations, took second place among fuel trading companies following the acquisition of a company there as well.
Szijjártó added that the joint economic development program — Muravidék in Slovenia and Rábavidék in Hungary — to which the two governments provide HUF 4 billion a year will also provide a great impetus to further develop relations.
