The House of Hungarian Music came second to such greats as the Museum of Broadway in New York, the Museum of Modern Art in Istanbul, the Taiwanese Art Center and the Great Egyptian Museum in Cairo. The museum in Paris dedicated to the life’s work of French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg took first place.
The House of Hungarian Music, designed by Japanese architect Fujimoto Su, was completed in December 2021. The building, nestled among the trees of City Park, offers a wide range of musical experiences amidst an organically undulating, perforated roof structure and huge glass walls.
This is not the first time that the venue has attracted international attention.
CNN and the World Architecture Community (WAC) have named it one of the most anticipated new buildings of 2021.
In 2019, it was voted Europe’s best public building by the prestigious International Property Awards in London, one of the most widely recognized awards in the real estate industry,
In 2020, it won the top prize for the best music-themed development in the world at the U.S. Music Cities Awards.
