The government has adopted a National Hydrogen Strategy, enabling Hungary to take a big step toward an innovative, sustainable and green economy, according to a statement of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.
Hydrogen technology can make a significant contribution to achieving the 2050 carbon-neutrality target and supporting economic recovery.
By using a hydrogen-based energy source, Hungary’s carbon dioxide emissions can be reduced by at least 95,000 tons per year. It will also create green jobs and strengthen the country’s competitiveness.
The government is also thinking at the regional level; a possible framework for cooperation will be given priority by the Hungarian presidency of the V4, which starts this July.
As previously reported, LINDE GÁZ Magyarország Zrt. and MVM Energetika Zrt. signed a strategic framework agreement to jointly implement clean hydrogen projects in Hungary as soon as possible.
