According to a statement of the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency sent to MTI on Tuesday, Budapest Central European Fashion Week (BCEFW) will be held at the Bálna building over the weekend. Hungarian and regional designers will present their latest collections and young talent from the Young Talents Program will also show their diploma collections.
Representatives of the international fashion press and famous influencers will attend BCEFW, as well as international buyers from all over the world, including Germany’s Mytheresa, Italy’s Tessabit and Japan’s Marubeni Fashion Link; the Russian Fashion Hub will also join the event.
This year, the designer presentations will be seen live on TikTok in addition to Facebook, and the presentations of the graduates will be broadcast in person by a number of TikTokkers. Seven fashion and accessory brands will also be exhibiting on-site.
BCEFW will also feature interactive open showrooms where designers personally present their latest creations and provide insight into the background of their work. Brands will offer discounts, sweepstakes and special surprises, as well as professional talks on topics such as sustainable fashion, conscious shopping, and how dresses have changed over the past century.
The Budapest Central European Select pop-up store on Fashion Street in downtown Budapest will also be open until October 19. Shoppers will have access to the collections of 27 Hungarian and regional talents, while additional regional brands from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland will be available at different times in the next six months.
