Tenders will be launched for companies in 1,200 disadvantaged settlements

FM Varga stressed that supporting such towns has been an important part of the government's economic policy for years.

Small businesses in 1,200 disadvantaged settlements can benefit from another economic protection tender, FM Mihály Varga announced on his Facebook page.

The minister of finance explained that the latest tender of the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Program will help the development of about 800 enterprises with HUF 5 billion.

Grants awarded can range from HUF 2 million to HUF 60 million. From this, companies can buy new machines, improve their digital tools, train their colleagues, and even finance part of their employee salaries.

Varga emphasized that the support of disadvantaged towns has been an important part of the government’s economic policy for many years. Investments protect jobs, and in today’s situation, every single job matters. As Hungary’s economy gets back on track, it will rely on these areas, too.

Details of the tender are available on the Széchenyi 2020 website, the minister added.
