The Kajla program launched in 2019 offered free travel to schoolchildren during the summer and autumn school holidays, and will now do the same also during the Christmas period. The program enables students to collect stamps or discounts on their passport at 500 locations throughout the country.
MÁV-START, Volánbusz and GYSEV will be waiting for children and those accompanying them on their trains between December 22 and January 2, which will take them to any destination in the country.
In summer 2021, more than 70,000 children took advantage of the free travel on MÁV-START and Volánbus services with the Kajla passport, while more than 13,500 Kajla tickets were purchased for MÁV-Volán group’s services during the autumn break.
Schoolchildren could travel around Lake Balaton with the free Kajla Balaton 24-day ticket during the autumn break, with more than 11,000 redeemed at the end of October.
