Unlike Budapest and other big cities in Hungary, the Lake Balaton region has never gotten into the community office game. But now, Anna Varró and Dániel Gyana of Nomád Coworking & Design Shop have created an inspiring community space, office and design shop in the historical part of Balatonfüred.
Inspired by the community offices of Indonesia, the owners designed Nomad’s interior to have a feeling of freedom and raw energy, with no separate workstations anywhere. The carpentry throughout was thanks in part to a winemaker and photographer friend who helped create wood furniture everywhere (even the mobile charging station) for a homey feel.
You can also purchase gifts inside, with offerings growing every day and including champagne, premium quality home-roasted coffee (Casino Mocca), tea (Zhao Zhou, Basil Garden), natural cosmetics, scented candles, books, and several sustainable products (e.g., Printa, Me and My Dog, ArtNatura).
Additionally, Nomad’s walls host regular pop-up exhibitions, such as photos from Radisics Milán, who owns a successful advertising agency, has been involved in photography for decades, and has had photos in National Geographic magazine and the WATER.SHAPES.EARTH project.
Nomad can also host meetups and workshops or simply offer a place to chill.
