Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, announced that Patec, which mainly now manufactures parts for windshield wipers in its Miskolc plant, is making a new HUF 1.7 billion investment. The investment will create 71 new jobs, the minister stressed; the government will support the project with a grant of HUF 500 million
This investment will not only increase the capacity of the automotive supplier, but will also be the first phase in the production and development of industrial robots, he added.
The minister said the company is one of the largest groups of companies in Singapore. It is also active in the military sector and has already had negotiations with Hungary’s Rába to possibly manufacture undercarriages for some of Singapore’s military vehicles. Furthermore, negotiations are underway on the production of complete combat vehicles via a joint venture between a Singaporean company and Rába, Péter Szijjártó explained.
