Sightseeing trams run on summer weekends in Budapest

From June 4 to August 28, on Saturday and Sunday, passengers traveling on tram line 19 can hear tourist attractions in Hungarian and English.

There are a number of tram lines in Budapest that are popular with tourists. For example, the Buda Funicular (Budavári Sikló) or even the tram No. 2, which has been named one of the most beautiful tram lines in the world thanks to its special features.

Tram 19 is also a truly panoramic route along the Danube, passing by Budapest’s famous sights.

Now, thanks to a partnership between Budapest Transport Center and BudapestBrand, the tram will play a special role in the capital from June 4 to August 28.

Passengers will be able to hear information about famous places such as Bartók Béla Road, Móricz Zsigmond Square, Hadik Café, Szent Gellért Square, Rudas Fortress, Várkert Bazaar and the popular UNESCO World Heritage sites around Clark Ádám Square, Chain Bridge, Margaret Bridge, Batthyány Square and many more.

Guided tours are available in both directions in English and Hungarian. Details can be found at bkk.hu/varosnezovillamos.

The sightseeing tram can be used with any valid BKK ticket, day ticket or pass, which can be purchased conveniently via the BudapestGO app.
