Seasonal low-cost flight between Lyon and Budapest

The Dutch airline Transavia has opened a Lyon-Budapest flight, Budapest Airport announced.

From December 16 to January 2, Transavia will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays between Budapest and Lyon.

The flight to France’s third-largest city will provide Hungarian travelers with a convenient connection to the ski resorts of the nearby city of Grenoble in the French Alps.

It is also the perfect choice for French travelers wanting to visit the Christmas fair in front of St. Stephen’s Basilica (Advent Bazilika) in Budapest, voted the best Christmas fair in Europe.

According to Budapest Airport, the Transavia flight ticket includes a large carry-on bag. The airline will use the 189-seat Boeing 737 aircraft for the route.

Transavia is a Dutch low-cost airline and a subsidiary of KLM, part of the Air France-KLM group. Its main base is at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
