Ryanair launches flights to Lanzarote in its winter schedule

Ryanair announced its winter schedule for 2022/23, which includes only one new route to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands.

Ryanair, which has 90 bases and more than 2,500 routes in 36 European countries during its winter season, has announced a total of 53 destinations from Hungary from October 2022 to March 2023.

According to the announcement, flights from Budapest to their newly available destination, Lanzarote in the Canary Islands, will operate every Sunday starting October 30. Wizz Air previously flew the Budapest-Lanzarote route.

Lanzarote is the longest island in the Canary Islands and is home to hundreds of volcanoes; the last volcanic eruption was in 1824. The volcanoes are the reason why the landscape is so diverse in terms of its topography and flora.

Lanzarote is committed to sustainable tourism and has long banned the construction of new hotels, as the focus is on ensuring that existing units are awarded the sustainability label (currently 79 hotels have it). It also limits hotels to four-story whitewashed buildings.
