Blue Hiking Day is a large-scale community hiking day, a free event to walk the National Blue Tour route. The 1,168 kilometers of the National Blue Tour will be walked in one day, with 70 separate hikes along the route available; each hike is limited to 50 people and will be headed by a tour guide.
With the professional help of the Hungarian state forest and national parks associations, the Hungarian Hiking Association hopes to raise awareness of Hungary’s Blue Tour — both its past and present.
As a special feature of the event, GPS trackers will show the progress of the groups on an online map, drawing a blue line across the country, that is, along the entire route of the National Blue Tour.
Of the 70 groups, everyone can find a suitable challenge, with distances ranging between 7 and 27 kilometers. Again, the number of participants per hiking route is limited, so make sure to register in time. The event takes place on October 10, 2020.
Registration is available here.
