Puskás Aréna, which was handed over in November 2019, won the Public Award at the 2019 Stadium of the Year competition, with strong support from voters both in Hungary and around the world.
According to the website StadiumDB.com, more than 30,000 votes were received from 107 countries, and Puskás Aréna received almost 15,000 votes.
The Hungarian stadium ranked second in the jury’s evaluation, with the top Jury Award going to Japan national Stadium in Tokyo. The four-member jury featured a Hungarian expert, Bence Pottyondy, who designed the DVTK stadium, which won 1st place for “Compact” Stadium of the Year in 2018.
In 2018, MOL Aréna Sóstó was able to advance to eighth place in the same competition.
