Progress is based on technological advances and innovation
The government is playing a major role in strengthening research and development (R&D) capacities.
According to Minister of Technology and Industry László Palkovics, the link between research institutions, large companies, education, and production should be strengthened to increase added value.
The government is playing a major role in strengthening research and development (R&D) capacities, and the results of recent years show that the conditions created by doing so are conducive to innovation.
Despite current difficulties, Hungary’s innovation performance has improved by leaps and bounds, with the largest increase in the number of R&D personnel since 2010 and a significant increase in the resources available to them. Innovation spending has more than doubled in just a few years to HUF 700 billion by 2019, and last year it exceeded HUF 900 billion, he added.
The minister believes that the change in Hungary’s university model, the university development program, the creation of professional-technological platforms, and the establishment of state-of-the-art research infrastructures can all contribute to Hungary becoming a major innovator by 2030.
