As part of an interregional development program, a special nature trail was created and handed over at the St. George’s Day Herding and Crane Festival in Hortobágy on Saturday.
The 12-station educational trail runs along the Hortobágy River. Using their phones to scan the QR codes on the buoys in the water, visitors can learn about the fish, bird and flora in the area.
The inauguration ceremony also featured a lecture and an environmental playhouse.
One of the main objectives of Hortobágy is to become an active participant in tourism services. The city is no longer just a day-trip destination, as there are many sights and treasures for people to enjoy, according to Mayor Ádám Jakab.
