New support for the employment of young and low-skilled workers

The Ministry of Innovation and Technology is launching a HUF 12 billion support program to stimulate demand in the labor market for jobseekers who are young or have a lower level of education.

The Economic Protection Action Plan has helped more than 1.4 million workers find work so far. And Secretary of State for Employment Policy Sándor Bodó emphasized that the government is still working to ensure that as many people as possible can get a job, as this is essential for Hungary to function.

The Enterprise Workforce Support Program, which starts on October 15, 2020, could provide about 25,000 less-qualified jobseekers with job opportunities starting in mid-October.

Under the program, an employer must employ the job seeker for at least 5 months. The rate of support in the case of full-time employment is 50 percent of the monthly wage cost (gross salary and social contribution tax), but not more than HUF 100,000. This means that employers can receive a subsidy of up to HUF 500,000 per job seeker. The amount changes proportionally for part-time employment.

Those interested can apply to the program from October 15 onward at the employment department of their local district office. More information at https://munka.hu/
