New research center established in Szeged

A new research center adapting to corporate needs in Szeged was set up with a grant of HUF 4 billion.

The Sustainable Green Chemistry and Mobility Competence Center was established in Szeged in cooperation with the University of Szeged, Mol and Audi Hungária Zrt.

The center is focused on research related to crude oil and petroleum derivatives and aims to provide industrial partners with a modern research background for basic and applied research and experimental developments.

The Minister of Innovation and Technology László Palkovics said that Hungary’s goal is to become a significant innovator by 2030, which requires an increase in public research and development spending, so they decided to continuously increase subsidies.

Palkovics added that under the framework of the next EU budget period, more than EUR 80 billion will be available for research programs and Hungarian research universities should participate more in such programs.
