New Hungarian bus factory under construction

One of the largest bus factories in the Central and Eastern European region will be inaugurated in Mosonmagyaróvár this year; green bus production to start in 2023.

Despite the uncertainties on the global market, the Kravtex-Kühne Group continued to build in Mosonmagyaróvár in 2022. In addition to the continuing reconstruction of the foundry, the third phase of the new Mosonmagyaróvár bus factory, which has been expanding steadily since 2008, will be completed this year, Attila Tormássy, sales manager, told a local newspaper.

The new bus factory, which will cover an area of more than 20,000 square meters, will be one of the largest in the Central and Eastern European region.  With the new production site, the group’s capacity will increase to 1,000 buses per year, taking into account the multi-shift working schedule.

In response to the tightening of European emission standards and the Green Bus program, Kravtex-Kühne’s Credobus started developing an electric model range in the autumn, which is expected to start production in Mosonmagyaróvár and Győr in 2023, he said.

The ultra-lightweight, economical buses can save up to 15 percent on fuel, which is worth billions of euros and will reduce carbon dioxide emissions from road transport by thousands of tons a year.

The total investment, worth over HUF 2 billion, has been supported by the government with a grant of around HUF 470 million.
