In 2020, the Bükk National Park received 15 mountain e-bikes from the Center for Active and Ecotourism Development under the “E-bike in Hungary!” program, Kornélia Szádeczky, head of the BNPI Department of Ecotourism and Environmental Education, told the local tourist newspaper.
Those interested can now register for guided e-bike tours on trails from May to October. E-bikes can be rented individually in Szilvásvárad as well. There are also nine outdoor bicycle service points, providing all the basic tools you may need for a quick service.
At the end of December 2020, a new cycling map was also published. “Cycling in the Bükk National Park” gives visitors all the possible routes for forest cycling, including how to get to demonstration points and educational trails in the national park from different directions in the mountains, all while passing through various habitats.
In the second half of 2021, cyclists will additionally be able to bike to the astrotourism center Bükk Csillagda above Répáshuta.
