The number of unemployed people was 179,000 last November, which corresponds to an unemployment rate of 3.7 percent, 0.2 percentage points lower than in the previous month.
As MTI reported, according to data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Wednesday, the average number of unemployed persons was 177,000, with an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent for September-November 2021. The number of unemployed was last lower in the February-April 2020 period, and the unemployment rate has not been this low since the first quarter of 2020.
In September-November 2021, the number of unemployed people aged 15–74 fell by 25,000, while the unemployment rate fell by 0.6 percentage points compared to a year earlier.
The unemployment rate for people aged 15–24 did not change, remaining at 11.9 percent. Young people accounted for a fifth of all unemployed. The unemployment rate for those between 25 and 54 fell by 0.6 percentage points to 3.2 percent, and for 55- to 74-year-olds by 0.5 percentage points to 2.6 percent.
The unemployment rate for men fell by 0.9 percentage points to 3.4 percent, while the unemployment rate for women, at 3.9 percent, was 0.3 percentage points lower than a year earlier.
