Nearly 40 companies received foreign-market access support

38 Hungarian companies received funds from the Hungarian government to help them access markets abroad.

Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Levente Magyar emphasized that the Hungarian government launched a national export protection program under the economic protection action plan in 2020 to support export-dependent companies in the wake of COVID-19.

The program aims to help domestic enterprises compete in foreign markets and strengthen Hungary’s level of exports.

Balázs Gellért, the managing director of Naturtex Kft., one of the supported companies, said at the event that the family business has been manufacturing home textile products for about 30 years and is currently exporting to 48 countries. The company has reached an important milestone and will increase the efficiency of their production capacity by 40 percent in Szeged from the HUF 3 billion support. The funds will also greatly help them present their products abroad, including at trade fairs, via online forums or even in person.

Pál Nemesi, the government commissioner responsible for the complex development of the Southern Great Plain economic development zone, welcomed the fact that the government is helping viable and competitive companies enter foreign markets.
