The program has so far helped people purchase more than 2,200 electric bicycles, thus contributing to the goals set in the Climate and Nature Action Plan, State Secretary for the Development of Circular Economy, Energy and Climate Policy Attila Steiner announced.
In addition to protecting the environment by reducing the use of cars by employees, the program seeks to encourage cycling and thus improve the health of Hungarian families. During the first three tenders, support was awarded for the purchase of about 2,214 bicycles, and so far, the government has provided HUF 238 million in support, he added.
This is the fourth time the tender of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology for electromobility will be opened.
Applications can be submitted between March 1 and 5. If an application is successful, the support document required for the purchase of an e-bike will be available through the application portal within 10 working days of the decision.
Electric bicycles will again be available at a discount to private individuals. The maximum amount of support is 50 percent of the maximum sale price of HUF 400,000, but no more than HUF 90,000. In the case of bicycles with torque sensors, the support is 50 percent of the maximum sale price of HUF 900,000, but no more than HUF 150,000.
There will also be a fifth round, when applications can be submitted between April 5 and April 9.
