More Hungarian families could get support from the solar panel tender

The government’s goal is to provide support for as many families and households as possible in the solar panel tender.

As MTI reported, the Hungarian government is working to make 90 percent of Hungary’s electricity production carbon-free by 2030. The residential tender launched in autumn 2021 helps to replace polluting household heating systems with modern, environmentally friendly solutions based on renewable energy sources. This will give households access to cheap, self-generated electricity, preserving and reinforcing the benefits of the cuts.

The Hungarian Recovery and Resilience Plan call has been even more popular than expected, and the government has increased the first scheme to allow all eligible applicants to receive support, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology.

The government will fully pre-fund and provide the necessary resources for Hungarian families from the domestic budget, they added.

In addition, the deadline for the implementation of projects will be extended, giving applicants half a year more time to implement energy improvements in the case of solar panel systems and eight months more in the case of heating modernization projects.

The simplification of the rules on applying for advance payments from suppliers will reduce the administrative burden on contractors so that the modernization of the winning households can start as soon as possible.

A decision on the applications submitted will be taken in the coming weeks, the ministry said.
