Mars is expanding its Hungarian pet food factory

The investment is worth nearly HUF 15 billion.

Mars is one of the world’s largest producers of sweets, chewing gum, food and pet food. The factory already employs 1,000 people and delivers its products to 50 countries. This new investment will create 120 new jobs.

The expansion is scheduled to begin in September 2021 and be completed by the end of 2022.

As part of the investment, Mars is planning to expand the capacity of its existing technology lines, launch a new research and development program, and place greater emphasis on supporting the development of the region.

The recruitment of new staff offers a wide range of opportunities for engineers as well as occupational safety and production professionals. The investment will be implemented in line with the global sustainability program of the company’s 100-year tradition.

The investment announced today is a very serious recognition of our 25 years of work so far. Our plant plays a key role within Mars’ global production network. Several locations have competed for this investment, but Mars has selected Bokros for this development. The investment is a recognition and at the same time a confirmation that Mars trusts the Hungarian economy and is satisfied with the performance of its Hungarian employees, Gábor Szabó, the plant manager, said.
