Kékestető Nonprofit Kft. won HUF 25 million from the Regional and Settlement Development Operational Program with its project entitled “Kékestető, health development at the top.” As a result of the development, a completely renovated mountain playground with modern equipment awaits families with small children next to the Rooftop Restaurant.
The area features a protective ground covering made from rubber and new toys made from safe materials in accordance with EU standards. The swings, slides and various climbing elements can be used by children up to the age of 14. Winter ski equipment was even acquired for travelers to rent; Kékestető is home to one of the largest ski resorts in Hungary.
The Cardio Hiking Trail is also complete and offers adults and seniors a unique way to maintain good health. It was created with the professional cooperation of the St. Francis Hospital in Budapest and primarily targets people with cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. But it can also be used by anyone who cares about staying in shape.
Those interested can make a short excursion in the vicinity of Kékestető on three marked routes that have different levels of difficulty, lengths and elevations. The cardio path can be traversed individually or in guided form, with an information board providing easy access to information about all the tours.
