Industrial production up by 3.1 percent

Production in the first four months of the year was 4.9 percent higher than in the same period of 2021.

The volume of industrial production in April this year was 3.1 percent higher than a year earlier; adjusted for working days, production rose by 4.7 percent, and based on seasonally and working-day adjusted data, it decreased by 1.6 percent compared to the previous month, the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO) said on Wednesday.

Production in the first four months of the year was 4.9 percent higher than in the same period of 2021. Most manufacturing subsectors contributed to the expansion in output, while the largest contributor, vehicle production, declined.

The other two major subsectors, computer, electronic and optical products, as well as food, beverages and tobacco products, both grew at rates above the industrial average, the HCSO said.
