Hunting tourism is a high-income sector

Hunting is a high-income branch of tourism, emphasized Zoltán Kovács, Government Commissioner for the World Hunting and Nature Expo and its related series of events.

“The coronavirus pandemic has shown how vulnerable tourism is and how important a task it is to relaunch it,” Kovács said, adding that the World Hunting and Nature Expo in 2021 will be organized under the motto of “One With nature.” “The event seeks to assess, 50 years after the 1971 Budapest World Hunting Exhibition, the relationship between man and nature and hunting and nature and to show that hunting is the most responsible and sustainable form of nature and game management possible,” he said. Kovács added that “as one of the primary goals of the event is to form a social attitude, a great emphasis is being placed on the involvement of young people in the organization of the event.”

The office organizing the event announced that 40 countries have already indicated that they will participate in the World Hunting and Nature Expo to be held in Hungary in the autumn of 2021.

Richárd Bors, technical director of the office, said that “one of the aims of organizing the world expo is for Hungary to show that it is at the forefront of various ways of cultivating nature.” The exhibition of the central event will be located in an area of almost 70,000 square meters, where both domestic and international non-governmental and professional organizations will have the opportunity to present.
