The Hungary 365 photo contest categories include landscape and nature, built and tangible heritage, and community life. Most of the 4,700 competitors have submitted their photographs into the nature category.
Dömötör pointed out that the popularity of the competition proves that photography is an extremely popular genre, and that we live in a country we can be proud of for thousands of reasons.
This year’s jury will be chaired by photographer Ottó Kaiser and will include Éva Keleti, Emőke Kerekes, Klára Szarka and Márk Tassy, director of the Hungarian Hiking Association.
When deciding upon the winners, the jury will consider exhibitions of different sizes in Hungary and hopefully abroad. There will be a selection of about 30 pieces for chamber exhibitions, a bigger one with 50-60 images, and 80-100 photos for large exhibition spaces; and an online exhibition is also in the works.
The best photographs will also be put to a public vote in November. Of course, not all 17,000 photos will be included in the public vote, but the best 50-60 photos per category will be selected for inclusion. Find out more here.
