Hungarians can also participate in ViennaUP

The startup scene in Vienna is one of the most diverse and fastest-growing startup communities in Central Europe.

ViennaUP, the largest business event in Central Europe, was first organized last year at the initiative of the Vienna Business Agency.

This year’s festival will take place from May 27 to June 3, 2022, and applications are now open for each program. The more than 30 conferences, meetings, workshops and presentations will focus on impactful entrepreneurship, smart cities, life sciences, creative industries and fintech, but there will also be hackathons, pitches and coaching.

The Smart City Summit will take place on May 30-31, 2022, within the framework of ViennaUP’22, where everything will revolve around one big question: What we need to do today to make our cities liveable for our grandchildren. Last year’s event attracted 760 participants from 50 countries and will showcase several initiatives from Vienna.

The other big event of the startup festival will be Manufacturing Day on June 1, which will be accompanied by a call for proposals.

The “Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition,” a joint program of the Vienna Business Agency and EIT Manufacturing, will give 15 startups and scale-ups from Central and Eastern Europe the opportunity to stay a week in Vienna from May 30 to June 3 and get to know its startup ecosystem and key industry players.

Participants will have their accommodation and travel costs covered, as well as will get an office and personalized business development and investment advice. Selected participants will have the opportunity to present at the Manufacturing Day BoostUp! East Finals and receive investment offers worth up to EUR 300,000.

The application for the Discover Vienna: Manufacturing Edition program is open until 3 May 2022 to Hungarian companies in the manufacturing sector, less than eight years old, that have already passed the prototype phase and have successfully entered their home market.
