The Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund, supported by the European Commission and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), is aimed at small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU that want to develop their intellectual property strategies and protect their intellectual property rights at a national, regional and local level.
The Ideas Powered for Business SME Fund helps to strengthen businesses through pre-diagnostic services related to intellectual property, trademarks and design. Professional intellectual property auditors can help determine the value of a company’s assets that constitute intellectual property at a 75 percent discount); it can help companies develop current and future intellectual property strategies; plus, companies can declare intellectual property at a national, regional or EU level at a 50 percent discount. The EUR 20 million program will open on March 1, 2021.
In connection with the online application, Gyula Pomázi, President of the National Office of Intellectual Property, emphasized that grants help businesses protect their own ideas, products and services.
One of the most important values of the 21st century is intellectual property and its protection, as this makes not only the given enterprise competitive but also the country where this company operates, Gyula Pomázi emphasized.
In addition to EU support, the National Office for Research, Development and Innovation (NKFIH) Industrial Property Application is still available, with the aim of protecting patents, trademarks and other industrial intellectual property products free of charge.
