Hungarian NGOs can apply for funding from October
Applications for more than HUF 11 billion of National Cooperation Fund (NEA) funds will open on October 3 at the Bethlen Gábor Fund Management.

Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky, deputy state secretary for civil and social relations at the Prime Minister’s Office, said HUF 10.8 billion were distributed last year.
Out of the 12, 914 applications submitted, 9, 800 received grants, and more than 3,000 applicants received HUF 150,000 in compensation to cover the cost of preparing their applications.
In Komárom-Esztergom County, HUF 140 million in grants were awarded to 148 applicants. The county organizations received HUF 130 million from both the village and urban NGO funds, the politician said.
As for these two funds, Vince Szalay-Bobrovniczky said they would lobby for the possibility to keep them.
There is no priority sector in the NEA’s calls for proposals. Any civil society initiative that addresses a community need and keeps and holds communities together is eligible, he added.
