Hungarian edutech startup Xeropan wins international award

Debrecen-based Xeropan beat competition including Lenovo, Busuu and Discovery Education in its category.

This summer, Xeropan won the award for World’s Best “Learning Relationship Management,” or Interactive Learning Support System, from Tech Breakthrough, one of the most renowned educational review organizations in the world.

At the time of the epidemic, the company also supported digital education by making its PRO functions free of charge for schools, thanks to which Hungary’s Office of Education listed it among its useful materials to support learning.

Available on Android, iOS and computers, the app teaches English in 15 languages using state-of-the-art pedagogical tools.

The platform, recently upgraded with a new design, uses exciting stories, packed with interesting videos and detailed grammar explanations, to teach. Meanwhile, artificial intelligence chatbots allow students to confidently practice their conversation skills. The effectiveness of the application has been backed by research led by Dr. István Thékes at the University of Szeged.

The Tech Breakthrough award was related to the Xeropan Classroom, which launches in September. This will let teachers replace physical textbooks with Xeropan’s curriculum and receive detailed information on student progress. Material can also be customized for students, making the entire teaching process more personalized and effective.

Xeropan developed its digital education platform and award-winning curriculum with equity funding from Hiventures, the venture capital arm of Hungary’s MFB Group.
