The Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA) informed MTI that seven Hungarian designers presented their collections at the Budapest Select Fashion Show, while Downtown Design, one of the central events of Dubai Design Week, provided an opportunity for 10 Hungarian brands to showcase their innovative creations to retailers and the general public.
According to the announcement, Hungary will be joining the Dubai World Expo from October 1 to March 31 with a number of programs and events.
From November 8 to 12, Downtown Design took place with 10 Hungarian designers including Error ‘n More, Forms Design, Zsuzsanna Horvath, Leits Miklós, Loomiosa, Oleant, Paper Up!, Planbureau, Position Collective and Sára Kele showcasing their designs at the joint Hungarian stand.
On November 9, the Budapest Select Fashion Show was held, where seven Hungarian brands including Abodi, Elysian, Kata Szegedi, Katti Zoób, Maison Marquise, Mero and Sentiments presented their collections. The fashion show was attended by 200 professional guests and journalists, as well as influencers and buyers.
The fashion designers presented themselves under the unified umbrella brand of HFDA, Budapest Select.
To strengthen the professional dialogue, HFDA also organized a roundtable discussion at the Women’s Pavilion of the Dubai World Expo. On November 10, regional and local women leaders shared their personal thoughts and experiences on the future of fashion, the role of women leaders and the importance of sustainability. Participants included Zsófia Bata-Jakab, CEO of HFDA; Camille Boyer, co-founder of the Austrian Fashion Association; Daria Marusyk, Head of Communications and Sustainability for Ukrainian Fashion Week; and local fashion designer Jouni Lama.
