Hungarian businesses at Portugal Smart Cities Summit

The Portugal Smart Cities Summit, an international event addressing the challenges and current issues of smart cities, has been held for the eighth time.

The Embassy of Hungary in Lisbon and Neumann János Nonprofit Közhasznú Kft., a supporting institution of the Ministry of Technology and Industry, jointly organized four companies and startups as exhibitors at the Portugal Smart Cities Summit 2022 in Lisbon between 11-13 October.

The Hungarian Embassy in Lisbon will also host a Hungarian stand, where four Hungarian companies will be showcased to global corporations, local government institutions and technology startups.

The smart city event will showcase an innovative Hungarian bicycle storage solution, a water quality meter, an application for recycling and modern waste management, and an intelligent parking management system.

“Portugal is a very innovative country, so there will be many opportunities for companies developing smart solutions to exchange experiences and build partnerships internationally. The Embassy of Hungary in Lisbon wants to ensure that Hungarian companies are involved in the international business community by all possible means, and is therefore very pleased to facilitate the participation of the Hungarian companies that are now traveling abroad,” Dr. Miklós Halmai, Ambassador of Hungary to Lisbon, said.

The exhibitors are:

  • The BLOCK Bike Racks team is developing a smart bike rack that can provide complete security for your vehicle to eliminate bike theft while promoting urban cycling.
  • EPS Global provides intelligent parking management systems and integratable parking solutions, as well as expert advice and full support to its partners.
  • GreenMap is a waste recycling application that develops and motivates users’ environmental awareness, helping to make waste streams eco-efficient based on the principles of the circular economy.
  • Water MiniLab’s water analyzer is able to perform accurate analyses of water quality and certain chemical parameters without human intervention, providing an environmentally friendly and more cost-effective solution for the (waste) water industry.
