HUF 65 billion in healthcare developments launched

In the last five months, the government has helped 46 investments in the healthcare industry with funding of HUF 50 billion.

As a result of the government support, Hungarian companies supplying the healthcare sector have launched HUF 65 billion in developments, Minister of Finance Mihály Varga said in his latest video message.

The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Finance was tasked with strengthening domestic healthcare production in the middle of last year, the importance of which increased during the epidemic.

Based on data, Varga said that starting the program was the right move, as it also protects jobs and helps restart the economy, so it will continue this year. The government is supporting the production of all products that strengthen the country’s self-sufficiency and create an opportunity for domestic manufacturers to enter foreign markets, he added.

Among other things, these developments will increase the country’s capacity in the production of rubber gloves, masks, medicines, disinfectants, ventilators, and medical instruments.
