HUF 17 billion previously let employers keep highly qualified professionals

Applications are again open for wage support in the research, development and innovation sector.

Applications are once again being accepted for the RDI wage subsidy program. An important element of the Economic Protection Action Plan is the retention of highly qualified professionals in the research and development sector, as this is a vital part of relaunching the economy.

After the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic, more than HUF 17 billion was allocated to help retain nearly 23,000 highly qualified professionals.

Sándor Bodó, State Secretary for Employment Policy of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, emphasized that the per capita amount of support may not exceed HUF 318,920 per month. The amount will be paid to the employer and for a period of three months.

It is noteworthy that the aid can also be used for newly hired workers, but in this case, the company has to show an increase in its headcount as of December 29, 2020. However, it is the obligation of employers to keep subsidized workers employed for at least three months and maintain their wages during this period, the state secretary said.

The support can be received by engineers, researchers and IT specialists. Wage subsidies cover all sectors and help the entire national economy.

Applications can be submitted from January 4 until February 8, 2021.
Detailed documentation of the restarted RDI wage subsidy program is available at munka.hu.
