The aim of the grants, named “literary caravan” and “art caravan,” is to strengthen national cohesion and relations with Hungarian-inhabited regions across the border.
They further hope to expand the programs of Hungarian writing organizations, public cultural institutions, and associations abroad and to support the access of Hungarian communities in disadvantaged areas to culture. Additionally, the grants seek to promote the values of Hungarian literature, fine arts, and industrial and photographic art, as well as film workshops, and to expand the profile of amateur art associations.
The Literary Caravan supports the implementation of reading tours and a series of literary events for writers and groups of writers and literary workshops. Hungarian writers’ organizations, associations and public cultural institutions are all invited to apply.
The Art Caravan supports the implementation of fine, industrial and photographic art exhibitions, professional film programs, and the presentation of amateur art exhibits. Hungarian public cultural institutions and organizations across the border are invited to the tender.
Applicants who plan to present at least one program in areas inhabited by Hungarians (outside of Hungary) will be given priority. The submission deadline is June 8, 2020, and interested parties can find further information at www.kormany.hu.
