HUF 1 billion of support for young Hungarian researchers

The Cooperative Doctoral Program (KDP) supporting young Hungarian researchers will be expanded with a sub-program aimed at defense research and development.

The aim of the HUF 1 billion call is to increase the number of highly qualified employees with scientific knowledge in the national strategy sector, the Ministry of Innovation and Technology announced on Tuesday.

The Cooperative Doctoral Program (KDP) supports talented Hungarian young people with a special scholarship program in line with the needs of the industrial and service sectors. This year, the initiative is expanding with the HUF 1 billion National Defense Subprogram (NVKDP) from the National Research, Development and Innovation Fund, the ministry said.

In addition to students at higher education institutions, doctoral students carrying out national defense research work that can be used in practice can also apply. The doctoral students participating in the sub-program will work in a corporate cooperation.

NVKDP will offer a monthly net scholarship of HUF 400,000 for researchers to build their careers.

In addition to the student, the doctoral school that receives and assists an applicant will also receive support.

The program is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Innovation and Technology and is being managed by the National Office for Research, Development and Innovation.
