Home renovation aid exceeds HUF 260 billion
A total of 150,00 families have already received support.
The amount of home renovation subsidies has exceeded HUF 260 billion, according to the data of the Hungarian State Treasury, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said.
The program is becoming increasingly popular, with 150,000 families already receiving support and 3,000 new applications being submitted per week, he said.
The government aims to protect its family support measures despite the impact of the war and the Brussels sanctions, he said, adding that next year’s budget will increase the amount earmarked for family support by HUF 450 billion, bringing it to HUF 3.2 trillion.
Hungary spends the most on family allowances in the European Union as a proportion of gross domestic product, he underlined.
Under the home-renovation subsidy program, the state will contribute up to HUF 3 million to renovate houses and flats for families with children until December 31, 2022.
