Following the success of last year’s cooperation, the Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency (HFDA), Startup Campus startup incubator and Hiventures Venture Capital Fund (part of the MFB Group) will launch their joint startup program for the second time.
The HFDA Startup Program awaits ideas revolutionizing the fashion and design industry and offers business development training and the opportunity to win an investment of HUF 15 million.
The program seeks to provide support, even in the concept phase, for future-oriented, industry solutions that will help boost the sector and create a value-creating fashion and design ecosystem.
Aimed at students and workers in the creative industries, the HFDA Startup Program equips participants with entrepreneurial knowledge to start their own innovative businesses.
“Last year, the originators of the Alpha wearable technology clothing concept received a capital injection after they showed how fashion and design innovation can serve our health,” said Zsófia Bata-Jakab, head of MDDÜ (Hungarian Fashion & Design Agency). “The aim is to provide all the support already in the concept phase to enable the most inventive players to compete with international innovators in the fashion and design industry. The products created by the meeting of fashion, design, and technology, in addition to being able to compete with cross-border competition, also helps to preserve the ability of companies to retain jobs and generate income.”
Teams enrolled in the program will learn theoretical and practical skills needed for a startup, including business modeling, financial planning, competitor and market analysis, and market entry. Individual mentors and industry experts will help refine ideas, with the most promising teams presenting to investors and the general public at the closing Demo Day. Projects deemed worthy of raising capital will receive an investment of HUF 15 million.
