The House of Traditions Friendship Association (Hagyományok Háza Baráti Köre Egyesület) awards the Béla Halmos Medal to a person who has achieved outstanding work in organizing dance houses.
The winner of the Halmos Béla Prize receives the violin of Béla Halmos, made by János Barbarossa, for one year, according to the decision of the board of trustees.
In recent years, the prize has been awarded to outstanding violinists such as Dániel Lipták, István Horsa, Tamás Nyitrai, Attila Mihó and Ferenc Csonka, while the commemorative medal has been awarded to Györgyi Ötvös, Márta Virágvölgyi, János Simoncsics and Pál Havasréti.
The application for the two awards can be found on the association’s website. Candidates must send their CV and professional references (maximum of one page each) to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
The competition welcomes applicants from Hungary as well as Hungarians from across the Carpathian Basin and the diaspora. Nominations can be made by natural or legal persons or professional organizations until April 8, and the awards will be presented at the Academy of Music on May 10.
