Tamás Schanda, Parliamentary and Strategic State Secretary at the Ministry of Innovation and Technology, announced that applications can be submitted on October 4 and 8. This is the 11th time such a tender has taken place within the framework of the Climate and Nature Protection Action Plan.
In the previous rounds, a contribution of HUF 577 million was requested for the discounted purchase of more than 5,300 electric bicycles.
The maximum amount of support is half of the purchase price; for bikes with pedal sensors, support can be up to HUF 90,000, while bicycles with torque sensors can receive up to HUF 150,000.
Schanda said the government attaches great importance to greening transport.
“The aim of the tender, which helps people buy electric bicycles, is to reduce the use of cars by employees and to encourage Hungarians to use healthy, environmentally friendly cycling in everyday life as well,” he added.
More information on the application is available on the IFKA website.
