The final section of the M44 motorway between Kecskemét and Szentkirály will be built by Hódút Kft. for almost HUF 107 billion. The contract is expected to be concluded this year, National Infrastructure Development (NIF) Zrt. informed MTI on Tuesday.
The section between Kecskemét and Szentkirály will be 32.2 kilometers long and link to the M5 motorway via the Northern part of Kecskemét (Kecskemét-Észak) junction. A rest area will be built at the beginning of the section.
The line will run from the administrative boundaries of Szentkirály and Kocsér for about 600 meters, to the section under construction at Szentkirály-Lakitelek.
The section between Kecskemét and Nagykőrös had been planned as part of the M8 motorway but will now open as part of the M44 motorway, NIF said.
No information is yet available on whether the M44 will remain free until it is connected to the M5 and when the final section will be completed.
