The Hungarian Government will support the investment with HUF 1.5 billion, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at the press conference.
Szijjártó explained that the investment will preserve the jobs of 574 people, while 30 new jobs will be created. The company, which produces hygiene and healthcare products, will also increase its production and warehousing area by 8,000 square meters; the capacity expansion will increase its production of current products as well as be used to introduce new products, he added.
Nolato has been present in Hungary since 2000, and the Mosonmagyaróvár factory is the group’s largest production site outside of China, the minister added.
Furthermore, the Mosonmagyaróvár plant has been running off of renewable energy for six years, so the company’s activities do not endanger Hungarian or European climate protection goals.
Minister of Agriculture István Nagy, Fidesz Member of Parliament for the 5th constituency of Győr-Moson-Sopron County, emphasized that the investment is one of the largest and most significant investments in the history of Nolato Magyarország Kft and Mosonmagyaróvár.
The demand for healthcare and hygiene products manufactured by Nolato Hungary has been so high since the beginning of the epidemic that in 2020, despite operating at 100 percent capacity, they have not always been able to meet demand, Szijjártó added.
